Got a lovely prezzy at work today. My dear friend Jonny, who's a languages teacher, gave me a traditional German St Nicholas Day present- a chiffon bag decorated with silver snowflakes, full of choccies, with an authentic small wooden reindeer decoration tied to it. It really cheered me up, as I'd been feeling really down after a rather bad flare. It's so lovely I can't even bring myself to open it and eat the chocs! most unusual for me!
There are some lovely people around!!

Hi Maria,

It's lovely when someone thinks of you when we're feeling low. I used to live in Germany and remember the lovely biscuits beautifully presented on St Nicholas day. Our Christmases were always very traditional and we eat our goose and opened our presents on Christmas Eve with picturesque snow outside.

Love,

Barbara

Such a lovely, thoughtful gesture.

And St Nicholas is one great Saint!

(Immensely popular here! LOL)

That was a lovely thought Maria - I`d probably have had a few tears.(doesn`t take much!!) We bought some biscuits at the German market on Tuesday - "cinnamon stars," and they were in a lovely packet all tied up nicely. They tasted pretty good too!

Hope your flare goes soon.
